Democratic Candidate For Governor Gets Mixed Ballot News

State election officials will consider conflicting recommendations about the future of the Democratic ticket challenging Gov. Pat Quinn in the March primary. 

Both a State Board of Elections hearing officer and its general counsel recommended Tuesday that gubernatorial candidate Tio Hardiman be allowed to stay on the ballot after submitting enough signatures to be eligible. 

But board members will have differing opinions as to whether his running mate, Brunell Donald, stays on the ticket. The hearing officer found that 

Donald filed a false statement of candidacy because she was not registered to vote at her current address. 
 
The board's lawyer determined Donald was qualified to vote in the 2012 primary election, so she did not falsely state she was a qualified voter despite the change of address.
