Sports betting is on the rise in Illinois, but so is gambling addiction, experts say

The 21st century saw video gambling becoming legal in 2009; and 10 years later, sports gambling became legal as well. Sports betting continues to rise in popularity, but experts say there’s also been a rise in problem gambling, or gambling addiction, and more needs to be done to raise awareness.

To discuss the gambling industry in Illinois, The 21st was joined by the associate director of an Illinois group fighting problem gambling and the editor of a publication focused on the gambling industry.
