This week, some 55 million Americans are expected to travel for Thanksgiving — the vast majority of them by car. According to AAA, that's the highest it’s been since 2019, before the pandemic.

Illinois travel expert Mark Wolters says there are ways to minimize the headaches — and save money in the process.

Wolters runs the travel YouTube channel Wolters World. He’s perhaps best known for a series of videos framed as the “don’ts” of visiting places as varied as the Texas State Fair and a Finnish sauna.

Wolters is also on the faculty in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
