The Illinois governor’s race is heating up.  The primaries takes place June 28. The general election is November 8. In January, money began to pour in as Democratic incumbent  J.B. Pritzker looks to secure another term, and is heavily funding his own campaign.  On the Republican side, Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin entered his name into a crowded field, and it appears that he’ll have the financial backing of big money donor, Ken Griffin, the richest person in the state. Today, The 21st was joined by two statehouse reporters from central Illinois to bring us up to speed on the latest developments.
