Though 2022 technically marks the 100th anniversary of WILL’s AM operation, this year also happens to be the 80th anniversary of WILL-FM, which has an equally interesting creation story.
Established in 1974, the Friends of WILL have played an integral part in securing WILL’s future over the last 48 years. The Friends organization grew out of an American Association of University Women study group on the media, who asked then-general manager Donald P. Mullally if they could start a group to raise funds for the station.
This year WILL celebrates a century of information, entertainment, and service to our community.
From music and ag reports to global news and local stories, listeners have been able to count on WILL for 100 years. This centennial is a milestone few public media stations in the country have met and is a once in a lifetime opportunity to share WILL's amazing story with the world.
