Printing Facility In Terre Haute Closing

A specialty printing plant in Terre Haute, Indiana is closing, eliminating 150 jobs.

Multi-Packaging Solutions sent official notice last Friday to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, that its Terre Haute plant will close by December 31st.

A phone call to the plant was answered by a recorded message saying the plant was closed as of November 1st.

In its letter to Indiana officials, Multi Packaging Solutions officials said that they had seen a dramatic decline in demand for their printing and packaging materials, due to changes in the audio and video products market.

The company says it’s making plans for an “orderly wind-down of operations, and meeting with union officials."

Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation president Steve Will says the pending closure of the plant  "is absolutely disappointing news.'' 

Multi Packaging Solutions acquired the Ivy Hill printing plant in Terre Haute in 2009.
