Fatal Shooting Reported in West Champaign

Champaign Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a fatal shooting on the city’s west side Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the Country Brook Apartments in the 2600 block of West Springfield Avenue.  Officers say the subject suffered multiple gunshots wounds,

The person was taken to a local hospital, and pronounced dead by the Champaign County Coroner. 

Police say witnesses reported hearing several gunshots coming from the apartment complex, and that two black males were seen running across the street after shots were fired. 

No information on the victim was released Tuesday, and no arrests have been made.
