Alex Keefe looks at the career of Jane Byrne, Chicago's first female mayor.

Byrne, who died Thursday at age 81, was a part of Chicago's political machine, until she ran against it and won. In 1979, she was elected mayor, the first (and so far, only) woman to win the post in Chicago. Alex Keefe produced this profile of Byrne at public radio station WBEZ in Chicago.
