U Of I Labor Prof Looks At Court Ruling Over NCAA Images

Last week, a federal judge ruled that college athletes can make money off commercial use of names and images, one of three recent rulings that could influence the future of NCAA football and basketball.

U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken's decision in the case involving former UCLA basketball player Ed O'Bannon came a day after the NCAA’s Board of Directors allowed for players in the top five conferences to potentially earn stipends and additional scholarship money.

Illinois Public Media’s Jeff Bossert talked with University of Illinois Labor and Employment Relations Professor Michael LeRoy on what these decisions could mean for the athletes.
