Eddie Money Headlines Urbana Sweetcorn Festival

 

Rock musician Eddie Money will be the headline act at the Sweetcorn Festival, August 22-23 in downtown Urbana.

Money will be be the final performer at the festival’s free main stage, on Saturday, August 23rd.

Eddie Money released a string of hit records in the 1970's and '80's, including “Two Tickets to Paradise”, “Take Me Home Tonight” and “Think I’m in Love”. He continues to tour at age 65.

Eddie Money headlines a two-day Sweetcorn Festival music lineup that also includes several local and regional bands ----  blues artist Candy Foster, 90’s Daughter and the Feudin’ Hillbillys on Friday, August 22nd. The rock band Decadents and country music act Brushville will warm up the crowd for Eddie Money on Saturday, August 23rd.

The Urbana Sweetcorn Festival is put on every August by the Urbana Business Association.

The group says the event attracts up to 55,000 people each year. It also serves as a welcoming event for University of Illinois students as the fall semester gets underway.
