Tonight at 7:00 on “The Evening Concert” on WILL, FM-90.9 it’s the “Wagner Anniversary Concert” from the Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. Christian Thielemann conducts the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra in an all Wagner program recorded in the Bayreuth Festspeilhaus on the exact 200th birthday of the composer May 22nd 2013. Lorin Maazel Retrospective on “The New York Philharmonic This Week”

Join us Thursday evening, July 24 at 7:00 p.m. for "The Evening Concert".  Lorin Maazel passed away Sunday, July 13 at the age of 84. Maestro Maazel served as Music Director of the New York Philharmonic from 2002-2009 and was an important figure on and off the stage. To commemorate his legacy, WILL FM 90.9 will air the New York Philharmonic program that was originally aired on the occasion of Maazel’s 75th birthday on Thursday evening, July 24 at 7:00 p.m. The program features works composed and conducted by Maestro Maazel, with an incredible lineup of soloists.

‘Ottoman Miracles’ on the “2013 Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts”

Tonight at 7:00 on “The Evening Concert” on WILL, FM-90.9 it’s the “Ottoman Miracles” from the Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. Howard Griffiths conducts the National Youth Orchestra of Germany in familiar works by Falla and Ravel, and “Ritual Dance” by Turkish composer Ahmed Saygun, whose works show “a mastery of Western musical practice, while incorporating traditional Turkish folk songs”.
