Evening Concert

‘Ottoman Miracles’ on the “2013 Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts”

 

Tonight at 7:00 on “The Evening Concert” on WILL, FM-90.9 it’s the “Ottoman Miracles” from the Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. Howard Griffiths conducts the National Youth Orchestra of Germany in familiar works by Falla and Ravel, and “Ritual Dance” by Turkish composer Ahmed Saygun, whose works show “a mastery of Western musical practice, while incorporating traditional Turkish folk songs”.
